Found Poem: life lessons

Golden church glistened brightly
Magic streamed through snow
Beautiful hands held life lessons-
Gifts made with ribbon and nails.

I created this poem (Check out the Poetry Foundation’s definition of a found poem here) using the text on page 210 of “A Tree Grows in Brooklyn” by Betty Smith. This is an incredible novel, and I highly recommend reading it if you have not already. 🙂

-poem is my own, published on 3.12.15

Interesting concept. I often come across things in books that I wish to remember, and fail to write down, but this gives it a new angle that appeals to me. Thank you.
