Just Breathe

Butterflies race ’round
heart flutters thoughts run wild—
grateful exhale stills.

Dazzling Dandelions

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Weaving the Threads.”

Dandelions dance
soft seeds scatter in the breeze—
take root in hard ground.

Shy hands carry
a beautiful bouquet
of dazzling dandelions
presenting them hopefully—
earning a starry-eyed first kiss.

Far more enthralling
than keeping watch out
for an unlikely outfield-bound ball
endless chains of dandelions abound.

Love in Ten Sentences (Love in four words: love whomever you wish)

Love is unmistakably unconditional—
forever forgiving flaws. Love
is seeing stars. Love
sees all through, Love.

Laws shouldn’t govern love.
Love whomever you wish.
All love is beautiful.

Your eyes hold love,
when you look, Love—
deep into mine, love.

“Love doesn’t make the world go ’round; love is what makes the ride worthwhile.”
– Franklin P. Jones

Thanks to Robert at Robert Jepson for nominating me for this challenge: write a poem about love, in ten lines or sentences, of 4 words each, and each line must include the word ‘love’. Then include a favorite quote about love and finally *nominate up to ten other bloggers to the same challenge.

*If you are reading this, I officially nominate you to participate, if you wish! I had a lot of fun writing this poem, and it inspired me to explore a different style of poetry than I typically write.
